Seminars and Guest Speakers
Periodically, in the course of the year, we take a few days
out of the regular Midrasha schedule to focus on specific topics of interest
and importance. Seminars and workshops are conducted by members of our
own staff in their areas of particular expertise, as well as by guest
speakers from both within and outside Israel. This past year, students
enjoyed seminars on "Jerusalem Through the Ages", "The
Jewish Woman in the Modern World", "Exile and Return" and
a special preparatory seminar for students returning home at the end
of the year.
In addition to the seminars we also conduct one day Yamei Iyun throughout the calendar year. Prior to each of the holidays, we dedicate a day of learning to the practical and philosophical basis of the chag. We have dedicated a day to learning about the events of the disengagement from Gush Katif, and have joined together to help those who are still in need of assistance as a result.
In the course of the past year, we have been privileged to hear visiting lecturers on topics of particular interest, including Robert Berman on organ donations, Rabbis Kanarfogel, Goldvicht, and Rosensweig from Yeshiva University, and Yeshiva University President Richard Joel.
